The Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P uses Gigabyte's famed Ultra Durable 3 technology on this budget friendly AMD socket AM3 platform. This technology brings 2 oz copper PCB and further helps to reduce the system temperature and dramatically enhance the performance. Based on AMD 770 chipset, the GA-MA770T-UD3P supports all the 45nm AMD AM3 Phenom II series processors that feature DDR3 memory controllers and HyperTransport 3.0 technology. According to AMD the 770 chipset lacks ATI CrossFireX Technology, Quad PCIE Blocks, GPU-Plex Technology, and Auto Xpress. Three of these features revolve around the board only having a single PCI Express 2.0 slot, so if you only plan on running one video card these features don't mean much to you. The layout on the board was actually quite good, with no real issues. The Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P has 4 dimm slots that support up to 16GB of DDR3 memory in dual channel configuration at speeds of DDR3 800, 1066, 1333 and 1600 (overclocked). And just to the right of the dimm slots is the 24-pin power connector that is placed perfectly at the edge of the board. The Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P has two legacy PCI slots, four x1 PCIE slots and one x16 slot that conforms to the PCI Express 2.0 standard. The six SATA connectors support RAID in 0, 1 and 0+1 modes. The audio on the board is powered by the Realtek ALC888 which provides 7.1 Hi Def audio and LAN is powered by the Realtek 8111C/D(L) chips. The CPU socket is actually clear of all obstructions, and should not have any problems with an aftermarket cooling solution. The bundle is super thin on this board. The Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD4P motherboard is the high performance X58 series motherboards of Gigabyte, designed from the ground up to unleash the awesome power of Intel's Core i7 processors. This Intel motherboard is equipped with a host of features including the QPI interface, 3 channel DDR3 support, 3 Way SLI and CrossFireX support, Ultra Durable 3 technology and the industry's most extensive range of overclocking. There are tons of indicator lights to help you know what's going on (overvoltage, overclock, system temps, etc), excellent layout and the CMOS reset switch that comes on the IO board is GREAT. However, for a board that is meant to make overclocking easy, this Gigabyte motherboard still looks difficult for a beginner and the default voltage settings are a bit too high. the Auto setting, in the some case, dumps way too much into the system. If it's that case, you can manually set Core Voltage in the BIOS to .96V or so and you may be able to run a stable system that was 10C cooler at load. The software that comes with the board is also buggy, cause some things don't even install properly.

In this Gigabyte serie motherboard, The Crazy Cool plate no longer comes pre-installed, it’s in a bag and you must install it if you want it. There are no issues getting the pins through the board, they went in very easy. However, the plate isn’t well insulated, so it is shorting against the mobo and causing all sorts of weirdness, so be carrefull. If you want to use a large CPU cooling fan such as Zalman CNPS 9500, it will be so so close to the memory slots. So, make sure to select proper memory sticks that are thin. Beware that Gigabytes Qualified Venders List for memory is flawed. Does not mean that type of memory can be used for OverClocking but just works okay (verified by Gigabyte) with the X48T-DQ6 motherboard. Like the other gigabyte motherboard, Gigabyte GA-X48T-DQ6 have its picky on SATA boot order.
