| ASUS P8P67 LE Intel P67/Socket LGA1155/DDR3 2200/SATA 6Gbps/USB 3.0 ATX Motherboard |
The P8P67 LE is ASUS's full-ATX Intel Sandy Bridge motherboard range with the B3 revision, meaning this Intel mainboard doesn’t suffer from the potential SATA issue that plagued the first generation of all Intel P67 motherboards. The ASUS P8P67 LE motherboard supports the Intel second generation Core i7, Core i5 and Core i3 processors in LGA1155 package. Manufactured in black and blue color scheme, the layout of ASUS P8P67 LE motherboard is decent for the most part. However, there simply isn’t enough space between the CPU socket and the first DRAM slot, preventing the installation of double height memory modules when you have a large tower cooler installed. Its I/O panel is adorned with eSATA and Firewire and you get eight USB ports and two of them are the USB 3.0 ports. ASUS P8P67 LE computer motherboard comes with seven expansion slots. There are two PCIe 2.0 x16, two PCIe 2.0 x1 and three legacy PCI slots. Due to the CrossFireX limitation, do not use the PCIe x1 slots when you install two CrossFireX graphics cards on both the PCIe x16 slots to set up a CrossFireX configuration. ASUS P8P67 LE Intel P67 Motherboard is offered only $137.95 by Amazon.com.

| ASUS M4A89GTD PRO AMD AM3/USB3 Motherboard |
The ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 motherboard is a Socket AM3 board which officially supports all AMD AM3 CPUs featuring a TDP of up to 140W and makes use of high-quality capacitors and an 8+2 phase power design. A 128MB DDR3 1333MHz SidePort memory module is present, boosting performance of the Radeon HD 4290 IGP. The ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 motherboard also supports up to 16GB of DDR3 memory in its four banks with speeds up to 1866MHz overclocked and 1333MHz natively. On the M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 motherboard, ASUS changed the way the memory is placed compared to the standard on most AMD motherboards makes it possible to install memory with large and unusual heatsinks. Like other high-end AMD motherboards from ASUS, the M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 also comes with a built-in memory compatibility tester called MemOK!. ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 mainboard comes with two PCI Express x16 slots working at x8 if both are used. If you just running a single discrete GPU, you must installed a loopback card (comes with board) on the first PCI Express x16 slot (the grey slot). The USB 3.0 on the ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 motherboard is provided by the NEC D720200F1 chip right below the back panel and has blue color. However, there are a couple of items that should be improved by ASUS. When you enabled the Turbo Key II feature, it actually hindered the performance by crippling the memory speed and timings. While this is a great feature for a novice, anyone who is into overclocking will skip this and tune it themselves and those who are not overclockers will actually lose performance with this. And, when two discrete GPU cards are used, the speeds drop down to x8 versus x16. With the speeds and technology that has been out for some time, it would be nice to have the full potential of our hardware to run them as fast as they are designed for. However,if a decent IGP, SATA 6Gbps and USB 3.0 are features on your shopping list, you can get AMD 890GX and ASUS's M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 motherboard for only $149.99 at Amazon.com.

| ASUS P8P67 DELUXE USB3 Intel ATX Motherboard |

ASUS P8P67 DELUXE USB3 Intel ATX Motherboard is in an anti-static bag and you can’t really see much of anything. The box did a superb job of making sure the board arrived functional and damage free. Included in the box are User’s Guide, I/O Shield, Q-Connectors, driver disk, 2 SATA 3G cables, 4 SATA 6G cables, front panel USB 3.0 box, and 1 SLI bridge. The layout of ASUS P8P67 DELUXE Intel ATX Motherboard is excellent. The CPU socket area is clear of obstructions and memory clearances are tight with such a cooler but it will fit and allow you to use all the memory slots. There isn’t a north bridge really as the chipset is unified. Thi Intel mainboard south bridge though is covered by a single flat heat sink which has a lighted ASUS logo in it. Directly in front of that are 8 SATA ports. 50% of those are SATA 3G and the others are SATA 6G. The light blue ones indicate 3G ports while the white/gray and darker blue ports denote SATA 6G ports. These are tied to the P67 and Marvell 9128 controllers respectively. When it comes to performance, ASUS knows what they are doing. The gaming performance of ASUS P8P67 Deluxe is top notch, especially when we start talking about multi-GPU scaling. Overclocking is just as smooth as with the ASUS P8P67 Deluxe and the ASUS Auto Tune worked great. Running the Auto Tune you will able to boost the Sandy Bridge CPU frequency by over 1GHz with a simple change in the BIOS.
The price of this Intel motherboard is only $287.39, you can buy it through Amazon US, just visit this page to buy this ASUS P8P67 DELUXE LGA 1155 SATA 6Gbps and USB 3.0 Supported Intel P67 DDR3 2400 ATX Motherboard. Labels: ASUS, Intel

| ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO AMD Motherboard |

The AMD 785G chipset that lies at the heart of the ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO is an update to the AMD 780G that launched early in 2008 where the AMD 785G is a relatively minor update of 780G. The ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO motherboard supports AMD Socket AM3 multi-core processors with unique L3 cache and delivers better overclocking capabilities with less power consumption and AMD CPUs in the 45nm manufacturing process. It features up to 16 GB of dual-channel DDR3 1333 memory support and accelerates data transfer rate up to 5200MT/s via HyperTransport 3.0 based system bus. The layout of this AMD mainboard clearly has areas where it could be improved, such as the IDE port that's angled into the board and low down on the PCB will make getting a cable neatly to the optical drives almost impossible. Then, there are the 4-pin power connector right at the top of the board nestled by the heatsinks. Outside of a case this is easy to use, but when in a built system it will sit right under the PSU or case roof, proving it almost impossible to unclip. Finally, there's the five SATA ports that are just lumped together, despite the fact there's enough space to stick them at 90 degrees along the board edge. With these negatives out the way, the rest of the design deserves credit, like the headers for front panel audio and USB sit at the bottom of the board and are easy to identify, the DDR3 slots are well above the PCI-Express slot. The passive coolers on the power regulation hardware, Northbridge and Southbridge look superb. They are swoopy blue aluminium items that look the part and, more importantly, they do a good job. ASUS has found the space for three PCI slots as well as COM1 and LPT headers but you don't get a floppy. ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO motherboard also has three PCI slots, but there are still x16, x4 and x1 slots available for PCI-Express cards. The rear I/O panel of this AMD motherboard is packed out with tons of connectors including six USB 2.0, one eSATA, one 6-pin Firewire, a RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet socket, PS2 keyboard, optical S/PDIF out, HDMI, DVI, d-sub, and six 3.5mm audio jacks providing the 7.1 channel surround sound as well as microphone and line inputs. While there's certainly enough for most of us, be aware of the AMD 785G chipset limitation where you cannot use both DVI and HDMI digital outputs simultaneously. ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO motherboard has a little plastic header that you connect the case lights and buttons to the header, then plug the header on the board. It's a little thing, but a real timesaver. Without the CPU-Northbridge multiplier adjustment in the BIOS, you're limited in the amount of HyperTransport overclocking available. The bottom line is that the ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO is really a very good motherboard at the right price, but just drops short in our expectations of an outright recommendation.

| ASUS Rampage III Extreme LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard |

ASUS Rampage III Extreme is one of X48-based Intel motherboards which is the latest offering from ASUS marketed towards the performance user or overclocking enthusiast. The ASUS Rampage III Extreme is a work of art. Following the standard red and black ASUS ROG design, the heatsinks certainly are incredible. The area surrounding the CPU socket even has the caps in a nice triangular pattern and there are holes for both 1366 coolers and 775 coolers. So, you can bring your old cooler along when you upgrade, and for the extreme overclockers who have a LN2 pot custom designed, to be able to use that instead of getting a new one fabricated is a boon. The LN2 switch of this ASUS mainboard will helps recover the processor from the frozen state that can occur when you've been using exotic cooling for too long. ASUS Rampage III Extreme mainboard has a couple of fantastic things. Firstly the ProbeIt which allows you to accurately check the current voltages using a multimeter. Above those are four dip switches for turning on and off the PCI-E lanes. These dip switches allow you to diagnose PCI Express problems without removing all your cards or, even worse, draining your loop. All PCI-E expansion ports of this Intel Mainboard are very nicely spaced out and it's good to see the old PCI-E x1 that used to be at the top of every expansion port layout has been eliminated. The more airflow the better and as PCI-E x1 never took off it's nice to see it has gone. The rear IO panel of the ASUS Rampage III Extreme has all the things just like another high-end Intel motherboards, such as PS2, CMOS reset, USB 2 ports, USB3 ports, LAN, Firewire, eSATA, Audio and the ROG Connect. As we'd expect from any ASUS product, the accessories included are bountiful. We have the user guide and CD, the IO shield, a ROG Connect cable and the Bluetooth ROG Connect should you have a Bluetooth PDA to hand. A full selection of connectors is included, like standard SATA cables and USB header, a Crossfire, SLI and hard Tri-SLI bridge. ASUS Rampage III Extreme motherboard also have the connectors for ProbeIt and the front-panel block. An additional heatsink and 40mm fan for the Northbridge, should you require additional cooling. It's nice to see ASUS have kept the design similar to the board rather than use an off-the-shelf part that doesn't match. In fact only one thing was slightly nigglesome. Given that this will be the new flagship ASUS motherboard, only having two SATA 6Gbps ports is disappointing. Considering how long you're likely to have this Intel board in your possession ASUS really should have given us more. The ASUS Rampage III Extreme motherboard can also clearly handle the new six core Gulftown processor from Intel as well.

| ASUS P6X58D-E Intel X58 ATX Motherboard SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 |

The ASUS P6X58D-E Intel motherboard provides you a host of new features and the latest technologies. The ASUS P6X58D-E motherboard supports Core i7 (LGA1366), triple channel DDR3 2000(O.C.)/1600/1333/1066 memory support and breaks the boundaries to bring you the multi-GPU choice of either SLI or CrossFireX. Based on Intel X58 chipset, ASUS P6X58D-E Intel motherboard features a dedicated graphics engine to optimize PCI Express allocation in multiple GPU configurations. The layout of the ASUS P6X58D-E Intel motherboard is generally superb. The memory ports have been positioned at a height where they won't interfere with the primary video card while there is plenty of room around the CPU socket for even the largest of 3rd party coolers. There is a slight worry where some users may not have enough PCI slots for their existing peripheral cards. This is because one of the two PCI slots provided is directly underneath the main video card slot. Fortunately PCI Express cards are amply provided for by a single 1x slot and three 16x slots. Unlike Intel's other current platforms, the X58 has PCI Express lanes in abundance, so you get to enjoy these important new features at full speed. The headline-grabbing features of the ASUS P6X58D-E motherboard are its next generation storage interfaces, where SATA III support is provided by a Marvell controller while two USB 3.0 ports are supplied by a chip from NEC. The majority of its SATA ports are angled at 90 degrees to aid users of dual video cards while the other two sit along the bottom edge out of the way. On the rear panel, six USB ports are provided (two of which are USB 3.0) along with a single Firewire port. However, there are no e-SATA on the I/O panel of this Intel motherboard. The USB 3.0 option will end up offering better performance, but some people who have a couple of eSATA devices will need it. Home theatre enthusiasts are well catered for with both optical and coaxial audio connectivity, and you'll find a rear-mounted clear-CMOS button which saves you the bother of entering your case if you overclock a little too far. There aren't any serious cons on ASUS P6X58D-E Intel motherboard, but there are a few things which need to noticed. You can't keep your RAID array and primary single hard drive on the same controller, especially in Windows 7. BIOS of the ASUS P6X58D-E Intel motherboard is great, but has poor labeling for some overclocking features. For example, if you're trying to find the uncore frequency, you probably won't have much luck unless you look in the manual. All in all the ASUS P6X58D-E motherboard is exactly what we were looking for in a P6T replacement. | Asus P7H57D-V EVO LGA 1156/Intel H57/DDR3(2133OC)/ USB3.0 & SATA 6Gb/s - ATX Motherboard |

Following the recent introduction of Intel's Core i3 and Core i5 CPUs family (codenamed Clarkdale), it's now possible to get an Intel processor equipped with not just an IMC (Integrated Memory Controller), but also for the first time ever with an on-chip IGP (Integrated Graphics Processor). To facilitate the new parts, Intel launched two chipsets on the same time, H55 and H57. Asus implements the H57 on its P7H57D-V EVO. In the box, you'll get a few SATA cables and a PCI bracket that offers eSATA and a few more USB ports. There's also an SLI bracket, IDE cable, the Asus Q-Shield and the usual manual and driver discs too. The layout of Asus's P7H57D-V EVO is, for the most part, very good. Equipped with four DDR3 DIMM slots, this Intel motheboard should theoretically support up to 16GB of RAM running at 1,600MHz. However, due to IMC limitations, unless utilising a Core i7 860 or Core i7 870 processor, the CPU will require a mild overclock to run the memory beyond 1,333MHz. The two PCI-Express x16 2.0 slots can be split into either x16-x1 or x8-x8 for CrossFire and SLI, although only Lynnfield CPUs support this multi-GPU arrangement. Asus P7H57D-V EVO is a great performing Intel mainboard. The TurboV EVO in combination with the EPU-6 gives you some excellent options for power management and easy overclocking. The Hybrid Phase design on the H57D-V EVO motherboard helps to keep everything running with stable and clean power.

| Asus P7P55D-E Premium LGA1156 |

Since the release of Intel mainstream class chipset, Intel P55, there are many variants of Intel motherboard used this chipset in the market. Some mainboard manufacturers equip their P55 motherboard with 6 Gbps SATA and USB 3.0, as seen on Asus P7P55D-E Premium motherboard. Originally, Intel P55 chipset itself does not support 6 Gbps SATA and USB 3.0. Both of these features are available through third-party chipsets. For 6 Gbps SATA features, Asus uses chipset from Marvell. Meanwhile, to feature USB 3.0, the chipset used is from NEC. In this Intel motherboard, ASUS provides 2 slots for 6 Gbps SATA slots as well as USB 3.0 ports. On the whole of P7P55D-E Premium motherboard, Asus already uses solid Capasitor technology. A total of 32+3 power phase from Asus is also placed around the processor socket. Meanwhile, 2 x PCI Express x16 slots is ready to accommodate the two types of multi-graphics cards, ATI CrossFireX and nVidia SLI. If you are not satisfied with its standards performance, Asus provides a variety of menu choices in BIOS for overclocking. Beside that, Asus also provides a TurboV Remote hardware in the sales package, for realtime overclocking. The "Premium" name of this Intel motherboard is indeed comparable to the sales package and components on this Asus P7P55D-E Premium motherboard.

| Asus Rampage II GENE mATX Motherboard |

Asus Rampage II GENE is an Intel X58 motherboard used a MicroATX form factor and packaged in a square box. The initial impression is of a smaller, cuter version of the Asus Rampage II Extreme Intel Motherboard. Asus Rampage II GENE's PCB is dark brown and the coolers are matt black with a red Republic of Gamers logo and the incredibly funky micro buttons that we first saw on Rampage II Extreme are also present. The big difference between this Intel motherboard with Asus Rampage II Extreme is its multi VGA support. While the Asus Rampage II Extreme mainboard has triple graphics slots (16x8x8x), Asus Rampage II GENE are reduced to a pair of x16 slots but you get full support for CrossFireX and SLI. The build quality of the Asus Rampage II GENE Intel mainboard is superb and the worth mentioning is the memory slots, as they only use a retention clip on the end of the module at the top of the board. The other end -- the one near the graphics card -- has no clip yet there is a distinct sound as the memory snicks firmly into place. This means that you don't need to remove the graphics card in order to release a module of memory, which is very considerate of the designer. The passive coolers on the chipset look great but they are rather small and the Southbridge cooler isn't even connected to the coolers on the Northbridge and the power regulation hardware. The result is that the temperature of the coolers hit a steady 60 degrees Celsius. The Asus Rampage II GENE Intel mainboard offers superb performance at a considerably lower price. Add in the potential to stuff all that power into an even smaller space than is usually possible and you have a motherboard we really rather like.
